How to make the most of a Easy Fill Baskets

Hanging plants add colour and variety to a garden, brightening plain features such as walls or fences and creating visual interest at eye level. For many gardeners, the disadvantage of hanging baskets is the difficulty of filling them; plants can become damaged, and it is not always easy to cover the surface of the basket itself. Easyfill hanging baskets solve these challenges, making beautiful hanging plants simple. With an Easyfill hanging basket, even a novice gardener can produce great results in a short time.

Easyfill hanging baskets have a revolutionary design which makes planting simple, minimises damage, and allows you to cover the sides of the basket as easily as the top. Each Easyfill hanging basket has 12 openings. Eight form a row around the upper part of the basket, while four circle the lower sides, just above the bottom of the basket. Each opening has a removable plastic lattice gate; removing the gate turns the opening from a small circular hole into a large window.

The first step in filling Easy Fill hanging baskets is to place compost in the reservoir at the bottom of the basket. A few handfuls should fill this area. After filling the base, you are ready to insert plants into the bottom row of apertures. Simply push the roots of the plant throughthe opening and into the compost, allowing the blossoms to hang outside the basket. Once the plant is in position, gently push the gate back into place inthe opening . The gate will hold the plant securely in place. Because the roots can be placed inside the basket intact, Easyfill hanging baskets help plants survive. Once all the plants in the bottom ring ofopenings are in place, simply add more compost and repeat the process for the upper ring. Again, once the upper ring are in place, cover the roots with compost up to the top of the basket. The compost should protrude slightly above the lip of the basket in a domed shape. You are now ready to plant your top layer of plants in the compost. Be careful to avoid the small holes where the chains will attach.

To attach chains to your basket, simply rotate the T-bar at the end of the chain and slide it through the opening in the lip of the basket. Once through, the bar will rotate into a horizontal position. The chain is now secure and the basket is ready for hanging.
